Danny Young is known as the Mayor of South Austin.  Located next to the Curra's on Oltorf, Texacalli has been Danny's podium to launch his political views and agendas.  Much of the popularity of the restaurant is associated with Danny's boisterous personality.  However, with food being the main focus of Foodquest, it will stand solely on that factor.  Famous for the "Texicalli", with thinly sliced beef, grilled peppers, cheese and onions, the sandwich unfortunately falls flat in terms of the flavor department.  Overly soggy with little of the ingredients and seasonings expected, it is surprising the sandwich is so widely regarded.  The sweet potato fries are more akin to sweet potato chunks with the powdered sugar unable to salvage an otherwise lackluster side.  It is telling when fans of the restaurant respond with, "Well, you don't actually go there for the food!"
