Donut makers have had a few tough years. As the quintessential villans in the entire low carb movement, the idea of a fried pastry has been the bane of dieters everywhere. The downturn has impacted large national chains like Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme along with small local shops. Fortunately, for the rest of us, Mrs. Johnson's has been serving fresh hot glazed donuts along a quiet strip of Airport Boulevard since 1948. |

First Chinese BBQ is one of the first restaurants to open at the new Chinatown Center on North Lamar. Prior to First Chinese BBQ, Din Ho Chinese BBQ in the Hong Kong Supermarket shopping center on Research Boulevard was the only source for the particular genre. Since the restaurant is in its early stages of opening, Foodquest is waiting for the restaurant to work out its kinks before conducting a full review. However, it doesn't mean that we can't get a taste of what we might have in store...

It is easy to overlook Amaya's Taco Village. Nestled in a quiet corner of the Capital Plaza shopping center, the restaurant is nestled between a Cici's Pizza and a Subways. Hardly a place to expect good eats given its neighbors. How wrong we would be in this instance. As they say, never judge a book by its cover. Let's see what we have in store...
